Doing business in Celebration

Signs built for Celebration.

Market Street and Front Street

Celebration Town Center is built around two main streets, Market Street and Front Street, where shops and restaurants sit below residences. It is a walking downtown. Visitors stroll, stop and read, so signs work at close range and at human scale. A storefront here is judged as part of the street, the way a porch or a lamppost is. Refined wall plaques, dimensional letters, painted wood and well-kept window lettering suit the setting. Loud, oversized signage does not. Every element has to sit comfortably with arcades, awnings and porches that were designed as a set.

Celebration Place and the medical campus

AdventHealth Celebration is the town’s only hospital, and it draws physician practices, outpatient services and professional offices into the surrounding district. Celebration Place runs as a commercial road toward the SR-417 edge of town. Buildings here need monument signs at driveways, building letters that fit the architecture and, indoors, complete ADA and wayfinding programs. Our catalog covers hospital and hotel ADA signage, directional systems and office identification, all produced in one shop.

A town that started with a pattern book

Celebration was planned in the 1990s by Cooper, Robertson & Partners and Robert A. M. Stern, with design guidelines written as an architectural pattern book. Signs follow the same thinking. The community maintains sign guidelines dating to the town’s early approvals, and an architectural review applies them. Owners associations represent both residential and non-residential property. For a business, that means the sign is a design submission first and a fabrication job second. We treat it that way, matching approved colors, materials and proportions before anything is built.

Senior living, residences and arrivals

Celebration sits between US-192, World Drive and I-4, and many people meet the town first at its entrances: Celebration Avenue from US-192 and Celebration Boulevard along the interstate. Senior living campuses, residential buildings and offices along those approaches rely on monument signs that look permanent and refined. Inside, residents and visitors need clear room identification and directional signs. GSI produced monument, ADA and exterior signs for Windsor at Celebration, using UV printing, laser cutting and CNC routing in our own shop.

Approvals in Celebration: design review first, permit second

In most of Osceola County, a sign starts with a permit application. In Celebration, it starts with design. The town’s sign guidelines date back to its early development approvals, and the community’s architectural review applies them to each request. Residential and non-residential owners each have an association, and individually owned property follows the community charter. Expect the review to look closely at proportions, materials, color, illumination and how the sign relates to its building. A rendering of the sign on a photo of the actual facade helps more than any written description. Once the design is approved, the county permit follows, because Celebration is unincorporated. We produce drawings that carry exact dimensions, materials and finishes, so the same set of plans serves both reviews and nothing changes between approval and installation.

Monument signs that belong to the architecture

Celebration’s buildings borrow from traditional American towns: porches, columns, painted trim and careful proportions. A monument sign should look as if the architect drew it with the building. That starts with the base, built to echo nearby masonry or stucco, and continues with a cap and a sign face in an approved palette. Router-cut aluminum letters, mounted with a slight standoff, cast a soft shadow that reads as craft. A UV-printed panel can carry a crest, a logo or fine detail without the edges of a vinyl overlay. Lighting stays restrained: ground-mounted fixtures or a subtle halo, never a glaring cabinet. For senior living campuses and office buildings, a matching set of smaller directional monuments then carries visitors from the entrance to the right door.

ADA and wayfinding for offices, clinics and senior living

The medical district around AdventHealth Celebration, the offices along Celebration Place and senior living campuses all share the same need: people must find their way without asking. Room identification signs, with raised characters and Braille, mark each permanent space. Directional signs at corridor intersections point to elevators, suites and exits. Overhead and wall-mounted signs handle the long sight lines in lobbies. For senior residents, large type, high contrast and matte surfaces matter more than decoration. We produce Braille in Grade 1, Grade 2 and California Grade 2, and our ADA catalog covers hospital and hotel programs, office signs and interior and exterior pieces. One coordinated family of materials and colors keeps the whole building consistent, from the front monument to the restroom door.

Printed material and truck wraps for Celebration companies

A Celebration company often runs its brand through more than signs: brochures for clients, business cards for every employee and trucks that cover the region every day. Keeping all of it consistent is easier when one shop produces the lot. We design logos, corporate identity, brochures, cards, flyers and postcards, then send the production files straight to our own printers. Vehicle graphics follow the same identity. Full wraps cover the body, partial wraps mix printed panels with the vehicle’s own paint, and cut lettering handles door and tailgate information. Magnetic signs fit vehicles that also serve as personal cars. One source for print and vehicles means one color standard, one set of production files and one call when anything changes.

Interior branding for Celebration offices

Professional offices in Celebration tend to carry the town’s attention to detail indoors. The lobby wall is the first impression: a logo in dimensional acrylic or aluminum, mounted on standoffs, or a UV-printed panel with photography and fine type. Conference rooms and private offices take smaller identification plates that match the lobby finish. Glass partitions get frosted film, cut with the logo or a simple band pattern, so meetings stay private while the space keeps its light. Wayfinding ties it together, with suite numbers, arrows and floor directories in the same type family. Because the laser, router and UV printer all sit in one shop, these pieces come from one material palette and one production run. The office reads as finished, the same way a Market Street storefront does.

FAQ

Questions from
Celebration.

Is Celebration part of Kissimmee?

No. Celebration is an unincorporated, master-planned community in Osceola County with its own ZIP code, 34747, which is sometimes associated with Kissimmee. It is not inside the City of Kissimmee. Because it is unincorporated, Osceola County handles building and sign permits, while the community’s own design guidelines and review shape what a sign may look like. Plan for both layers from the start.

What are monument signs?

A monument sign is a freestanding sign mounted low on a solid base rather than on poles. It stands near eye level at a driveway or entrance and reads as permanent and established. In Celebration, monuments fit the town’s architecture when built with matching colors, a base that echoes nearby buildings and lettering in an approved style. We build them with aluminum, routed letters and UV-printed panels.

How long do vehicle wraps last in Florida?

Florida sun is the main factor. A wrap printed on quality cast film with a protective laminate holds up far longer than an unprotected print, and the horizontal surfaces, the hood and roof, age fastest. Parking in shade, hand washing and avoiding harsh pressure washing at the edges all extend a wrap’s life. Partial wraps and cut lettering are easy to refresh when a phone number or service changes.

What are some ADA compliant restroom signs?

A compliant restroom sign combines a pictogram, raised characters and Braille on a non-glare surface with strong contrast. The pictogram sits in its own clear field, and the raised text and Braille below it name the room. Accessible restrooms add the International Symbol of Accessibility. Mount the sign on the latch side of the door. We make restroom signs to match a building’s finishes, from brushed metal tones to the colors of a senior living interior.

Do signs in Celebration need design approval?

Yes. Celebration keeps its own sign guidelines, and the community’s architectural review checks a sign against them before it goes up. Approval covers size, placement, materials, colors and lighting. A county permit is a separate step, since Celebration is unincorporated Osceola County. Submit a complete design with dimensions, materials and a rendering on the building, and the review moves faster.
