Overview

UV Printing.
Made to be seen.

UV printing cures special inks with ultraviolet light the moment they reach the surface. That lets us print full color directly onto acrylic and other rigid materials, with crisp edges and rich color. It is the process behind our ADA signs, with Grade 1, Grade 2 or California Grade 2 Braille, and behind custom interior ID signs, plaques and logo panels for architects, design firms and the healthcare, education and hospitality sectors.

What to send us

A photo of the space or vehicle, rough measurements and your logo are enough to start. No artwork yet? We can design it.

Applications

Built for the setting.

ADA and Braille signs

ADA room signs and their Braille are produced on our UV printer, which keeps the whole job in our shop from first proof to finished plate. Architects and designers send the sign schedule, and we proof every plate before it prints. Our ADA and wayfinding page covers the rules that apply to each type of sign.

Interior ID signs and plaques

Suite signs, name plates, plaques and room ID signs look sharper when the color is printed straight onto the panel. UV printing handles logos, gradients and fine type on acrylic with ease, and it pairs with laser-cut or router-cut shapes when a sign needs depth as well as color.

Logo panels and branded pieces

From a printed acrylic logo behind the front desk to branded awards and engraved gifts, UV printing puts full color on pieces that a sheet of vinyl can’t reach. Unisen Senior Living and Windsor at Celebration both combined UV printing with laser and router cutting across their sign packages.

Questions about
UV printing.

Straight answers to the questions we hear before most projects. Anything else, call (407) 935-1876.

What is UV printing?

UV printing is a digital process that jets ink onto a surface and cures it instantly with ultraviolet light. Because the ink hardens on contact, it sits on top of the material instead of soaking in, which gives sharp detail and strong color on rigid surfaces such as acrylic. It is widely used for ADA signs, plaques and interior signage.

What materials can be UV printed?

Flat, rigid materials are the natural fit: acrylic, aluminum, wood, PVC and other sign substrates. Smooth surfaces give the crispest results, while raw or textured wood can need extra preparation. Tell us the material you have in mind and the finish you want, and we’ll tell you how it will print on our equipment.

How is UV printing different from screen printing?

Screen printing pushes ink through a stencil one color at a time, and it pays off on long runs of the same design. UV printing is digital, so there are no screens to make and full color comes out in a single job. That makes one-off signs, short runs and personalized plates practical, which is why it suits ADA signs and custom plaques.

Can UV printing make ADA Braille signs?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons we run a UV printer. We produce ADA signs in-house with Grade 1, Grade 2 or California Grade 2 Braille for architects, designers and building owners. Send the sign schedule and specifications, and we take care of the layout, the proofs and the production.
